Viet Nam's Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) is developing the Viet Nam National Trade Repository (VNTR) with support from the UK Government that will be linked to the ASEAN Trade Repository (ATR) (https://atr.asean.org) and be congruent with requirements under the ASEAN Trade in Goods Agreement (ATIGA). In this regard, the VNTR covers the 9 mandatory topics required by ATIGA Article 13 and has a specific focus on non-tariff measures (NTMs) based on ASEAN Free Trade Agreements (FTAs).

This will be a free-to-access online information platform that provides all the latest trade regulations and information that businesses need to export and import to and from Viet Nam. The VNTR will contain important information, such as preferential tariffs under FTAs which Viet Nam is a party to, Rules of Origin for each commodity under different FTAs, NTMs applied to imported – exported goods, as well as trade and customs related laws and regulations, etc. which are searchable through a search function using the Harmonized System (HS) Codes.

The VNTR is scheduled to be launched shortly and will continue to be updated with latest information and data to best serve the business community, both inside and outside Viet Nam, for an improved business environment.
